Justin Olivares, founder of Bricks & Mortar Food, has joined Free Speakers Phoenix and is available to speak at no cost to clubs, libraries, schools and other community groups.

Olivares is a culinary school graduate and former professional cook. He works with adults over 40 on ways of eating that fit around work schedules, travel, restaurant meals and family obligations.

Olivares spent years trying to balance calorie counting and portion control with everyday life. He concluded that knowing what to eat was rarely the hard part. The challenge was making food choices consistently when circumstances were not ideal, which led him to start Bricks & Mortar Food.

"Program chairs tell us their members want a talk they can use the next day," said Ginny Richardson, founder of Free Speakers. "Most people at a lunch meeting have tried a diet that didn't last, so this one should get a lot of requests."

Richardson started the speakers bureau in Chicago in 1996 and launched Free Speakers Phoenix in 2017.
