Free museum admission for children 17 and under at Western Spirit Museum: Scottsdale's Museum of the West on September 5-6th. Be among the first to experience Woven: Navajo Textiles from the Pelberg Collection, a captivating exhibition showcasing seven modern and contemporary weavings by Diné artists. Discover the artistry behind every textile through interactive displays, hands-on experiences with wool and dyed yarn, and a family activity area featuring weaving projects to take home. This immersive exhibition celebrates Navajo weaving as a vibrant living tradition, offering visitors of all ages a deeper appreciation for the creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural stories woven into every piece. On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. visitors will have the opportunity to participate by securing a set of goggles on their forehead and watching an 8-minute immersive Virtual Reality video placing you up in the Four Corners region of Arizona to meet weaver Tyrrell and the sheep he tends to.
