California Theme Parks Slash Annual Passholder Prices By 50 Percent
Take a look at how these theme parks are temporarily cutting the cost of 2027 annual passes. Here's what to know.

CALIFORNIA — A California theme park is temporarily slashing the price of admission for season passholders and opening up opportunities to visit parks across the state, and in Arizona and Mexico.
The season pass sale at Six Flags Entertainment Corporation runs Aug. 7 through Sept. 7, for the $129 Gold Season Pass.
This Gold Season Pass, available for $129, comes with access to all Six Flags West Coast theme parks in the form of 2027 season passes at a fraction of the cost of Disneyland Resort or Universal Studios, with more perks, according to a news release. The offering is for 2027 season passes, each retailing for less than one day at Disneyland, according to a recent news release.

The offering is for season passes to all Six Flags West Coast Parks, including Knott's, Magic Mountain, California's Great America and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, along with Hurricane Harbor Phoenix and all water parks.
"One of the biggest perks of visiting multiple theme parks in the Six Flags West Region is experiencing a wide variety of seasonal events, festivals, and limited‑time celebrations throughout the year. From spring breaks to summer thrills to spooky fall traditions and festive holiday celebrations, there’s always something happening — no matter which park you visit," according to the Six Flags website.

When you purchase, you must pick a "home park," where your parking perks and discounts will apply.
The Six Flags Knott's Berry Farm $129 Gold Season Pass will get you into each of the West Coast Six Flags Amusement and water parks, at a savings of 46%.
There is a more premium pass offered for both Knott's and Magic Mountain, the $329 Prestige Pass, which is available for entry each day through the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027, according to Six Flags media group
Each Prestige Pass also offers food deals and merchandise perks, free parking and free soft drinks. There is no additional cost for fast lane, or "bring a friend" passes.
How does this compare to Disneyland and Universal Studios? Guests will tell you there is a total difference in the experience at both of those theme parks vs. the Six Flags venues.
Still, there is no comparison as to the cost of admission.
The Disneyland Resort's lowest-priced annual pass in its Magic Key program, the Explore Key, costs $999 and includes park hopper admission, discounts for food, 25% off Lightning Lane Multi-Passes, as well as 25% off parking. According to Disney, this pass "pays for itself in six visits, based upon the lowest Park Hopper ticket price."
