Alysa Liu Gifts Jimmy Fallon Halo Ring Wig During Surprise 'The Tonight Show' Appearance

OAKLAND, CA — Jimmy Fallon was going through a monologue Tuesday during the 13th season of "The Tonight Show" when Tariq Trotter spotted a shiny gold object around the host's wrist.

"I just wanted to say that I like your gold bracelet," Totter. "Don't you wish you had, like a gold necklace to go with it?"

"Of course I do, Tariq, but we're in the middle of a show," Fallon responded. "So, where am I going to find a gold necklace?"

Just as you'd think the show would continue into Fallon's monologue, the crowd suddenly erupted at the sight of Olympic champion Alysa Liu wandering on stage.

"Alysa Liu! What are you talking about?" a faux-shocked Fallon says. "Look at the love. A standing ovation."

Liu, with her popular halo-ring hairstyle, rocked the stage after winning two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics. One of those medals included a historic win that ended the United States' 20-year-long drought for a gold medal in women's figure skating.

"I heard you needed some gold," Liu tells Fallon.

"You're gonna give me your gold medal?" Fallon asks.

"I've got something even better for you," Liu says before putting on a halo ring wig on an unsuspecting Fallon's head.

Liu put the Bay Area on the world stage during the Olympics, shouting out Oakland and continuously expressing her love for the city and her community.

Since returning home from the Olympics, Liu has been celebrated by fans and peers.

Fenton's Creamery created an ice cream flavor in her honor, and Oakland's city officials say they plan to celebrate Liu's wins with a large community event in the near future.
