School District Names New Superintendent
Baldwin Park Unified doesn't have to look far to find Paul Sevillano's successor.

Supervisors on the board of the Baldwin Park Unified School District couldnβt reach a unanimous decision, but they they were able to sign off on the naming a new superintendent this past week.
Froilan Mendoza will be the permanent replacement for Paul Sevillano, who resigned in September. Since that time, Mendozaβwho has been with the district for 16 yearsβserved in an interim capacity in place of his former boss.
Mendoza will have a base salary of almost $230,000, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

He was approved on Tuesday by a 4-1 vote. At the district, he has a background that includes stintsΒ as associate superintendent, senior director of student achievement, director of extended educational programs, and coordinator of early childhood education.
βHe creates teams that play to peopleβs strengths and unify everyone behind our goal to provide the highest quality education for our students,β board president Christina Lucero said.
