Strong Winds Predicted For Pass Area This Week: What To Know About This Wind Advisory

PASS AREA, CA — A wind advisory was issued Monday in the Pass Area due to gusty winds in the region through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph were expected, and gusts of up to 65 mph were possible in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and the Riverside County mountains, according to meteorologists.

The advisory was slated to begin Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. Thursday, according to reports.

Winds gusts were expected to reach as high as 65 mph on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," the warning stated. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

Air quality can vary by hour and location, depending on wind conditions.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," they reminded. "Use extra caution."
