East Bay Freeway Shooting Wounds Driver, Closes Freeway: Report
The driver was hospitalized and is recovering, police said, according to a KRON4 report.
RICHMOND, CA — Police on Thursday said they're investigating a shooting on the Eastshore (I-80) Freeway that left a driver hospitalized, according to a KRON4 report.
Police say the shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday near the Barrett Avenue exit on the westbound I-80 Freeway, according to the report.
The victim was driving with a female passenger when a black sedan suddenly slammed on its brakes, the California Highway Patrol said, according to the report.

After the victim moved to the exit lane and ended up side by side with the black sedan, someone in the sedan opened fire, hitting the victim in the left shoulder, according to the report.
No suspects have been arrested, and the victim is expected to survive, according to the report.
