Series Of Quakes Rattle East Bay
A series of quakes have stuck in the same area along the Greenville Fault since Saturday, including a magnitude 3.4.
BRENTWOOD, CA — A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck on Monday morning in Contra Costa County near Brentwood just two days after a larger quake struck in the same area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred at 6:47 a.m., with its epicenter about 7.4 miles west-southwest of Brentwood, 6.5 miles northeast of Blackhawk and 8.2 miles east-southeast of Clayton.

The epicenter was also about 9 miles south of Antioch.
The quake was recorded at a depth of about 10 miles, according to the U.S.G.S. data. On Saturday, a magnitude 3.4 quake struck in roughly the same area along the Greenville Fault at about 12:25 a.m., according to the USGS. On Sunday, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake hit in the same area at 3:06 p.m.
