Free Go Bags to 40 Burlingame Families
All are invited for free pizza at emergency prep event

Burlingame families are invited to enjoy free pizza and learn how to create an emergency kit at a Pizza and Prep Party on Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burlingame Community Center at 850 Burlingame Ave. in Burlingame. The first 40 Burlingame families to sign up will receive a free backpack and fill it with several emergency items, provided at least one parent and one child attend. Everyone is welcome to attend, but you must live in Burlingame to qualify for a free backpack.

At this event presented by the Burlingame Neighborhood Network (BNN). Kaz Chiao, CERT Coordinator for the Central County Fire Department, will explain what to include in a “Go Bag” that they can grab in case they need to evacuate quickly. He’ll also provide lists of suggested items. Pizza will be provided by Sapore Italiano Ristorante on Burlingame Avenue. In addition to supplying the backpacks and emergency items, BNN will offer free drinks.

Pizza and Prep will take place in “Kids Town” at the Burlingame Community Center, which is located adjacent to outdoor play structures and picnic tables. It has a gated patio and child-friendly restroom.
