National Retailer Closing Carlsbad Locations: Report

The clothing and accessories retailer with stores in 45 states is reportedly planning to shutter all locations and liquidate its inventory.

CARLSBAD, CA — All sales are final at Francesca's in Carlsbad. The two stores in Carlsbad are among more than 400 across the national brand that is shuttering after over 25 years in business, according to reports.

From jewelry to bridal and in-season clothing, the mall-based boutique chain is liquidating its inventory, meaning shoppers can expect close-out sales to start soon.

"We are liquidating our inventory and closing soon," a Francesca's customer service representative told Women's Wear Daily.

Founded in 1999, Houston-based Francesca's opened stores in 45 states, employing more than 3,400 people.

But the news of the closing follows a 2020 bankruptcy filing. At the time, Francesca's had about 700 stores and announced 140 locations would close, USA Today reported.

Francesca's has not publicly confirmed the closing. However, its online store is advertising sales of 20% off.

  • Fashion Valley Mall: 7007 Friars Road, Suite 583 A, San Diego
  • Girard Avenue: 7886 Girard Ave., La Jolla
  • North County Mall: 200 E Via Rancho Parkway, Suite 325, Escondido
  • The Forum Carlsbad: 1923 Calle Barcelona, Suite 146, Carlsbad
  • The Shoppes at Carlsbad: 2525 El Camino Real, Unit 230, Carlsbad
