Firefighter Hurt, 6 Displaced In Hoarding House Fire
The blaze spread to other structures. In one home, six people, three dogs and a cat were displaced.
CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A fire that began in the home of a hoarder in Castro Valley reached three-alarm status on Sunday, spreading to other structures, injuring one firefighter and displacing six people, the Alameda County Fire Department said.
Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters with the county responded to residential fire in the 22000 block of Queen Street in Castro Valley.
The fire grew to such an extent that it spread to two homes and an accessory dwelling unit nearby, the Fire Department said. Mutual aid had to be called from Oakland, Hayward and city of Alameda fire departments.

One firefighter sustained a minor injury.
