From ancient monuments carved in stone to bold contemporary abstraction, sculpture has always been a defiant presence in the world. It occupies space and refuses to be ignored. This year’s International Sculpture Days event embraces the belief that sculpture can inspire, provoke, and challenge the world around us. Each artist will present their work , and visitors can engage in acts of “defiant dissidence,” exploring how art can serve as both personal reflection and public voice.
The event draws on a long tradition of artists and citizens using visual language to express dissent, question norms, and imagine new possibilities. At its core, We The Sculptors affirms the enduring role of artists to challenge, to question, and to stand visibly in the public square.
