National Night Out Martinez will be distributing free inkless child ID kits during the National Night Out celebration scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm at the Martinez Waterfront Park located at 245 N. Court Street
Parents are encouraged to attend National Night Out and pick up an inkless child ID kit.
Should your child go missing, the information in these kits saves law enforcement time and has helped expedite efforts to find missing children providing up to 90% of information needed by law enforcement to begin looking for the child.
The Child ID kits will be provided at no cost to families as part of a private-public partnership with the National Child ID Program and National Night Out.
Each kit includes an inkless fingerprinting kit, a DNA sample collection, physical identification information, location of medical records, a place for a recent photo, and easy-to-use instructions.
Kits should be completed by parents and stored in a safe place at home. The information does not enter a database.
