Inmate Found Dead In Cell In Contra County Detention Center: Report

RICHMOND, CA — A woman was found dead at a detention facility early Friday morning, the Contra County Sheriff's office told KCRA3.

A deputy sheriff making safety rounds at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond around 12:24 a.m., found an inmate with a ligature around her neck who was unresponsive, the outlet reported.

Deputies and medical staff tried to save the life of Robbi Lynn Perley, 59, of Rio Vista, but she was later pronounced dead, officials told the outlet.
