Missing Swimmer Discovered Dead In East Bay
A 46-year-old woman who went missing last week was discovered Sunday morning in Antioch, authorities said.
ANTIOCH, CA —A swimmer who went missing last week in Antioch was discovered deceased, police said Tuesday.
Edgielyn Torrente, 46, went missing while swimming near Smith's Landing Seafood Grill on Wednesday. Torrente was found deceased in the San Joaquin River on Sunday.
Just after 7 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to calls reporting a person in the water west of Smith's Landing. The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol and the Pittsburg Police Department recovered Torrente about a mile west of where she went missing.

The Sheriff's Office Coroner's Division will determine the cause and manner of death. No foul play is suspected, according to police.
