One Man Shot, Second Suspected Of Attempted Murder In Contra Costa County
A man was airlifted with gunshot wounds and a 60-year-old suspect was jailed on attempted murder allegations after violence erupted CCCo.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A shooting in rural Oakley ended with a wounded man flown to a hospital and a 60-year-old suspect booked into jail, after deputies, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a shooting in the 3300 block of Wells Road. They arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was airlifted for treatment.
Deputies detained the suspect at the scene and later arrested James O’Bryan, 60, of unincorporated Oakley. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and is being held on $800,000 bail.

Investigators have not disclosed what sparked the gunfire, and the victim’s condition has not been released. The case remains under investigation.
