21st Annual Concours D'Elegance Coming To Danville Saturday

DANVILLE, CA — It’s that famously elegant time of year again. On Sunday, eight blocks of downtown Danville will fill up with more than 120 fine cars, motorcycles, and even wooden yachts for the 21st annual Concours d’Élegance. “Concours d’Élegance” is French for “contest of elegance,” and each car, boat, and motorcycle will be judged by official judges from the Sports Car Club of America.

Cars will be judged on factors like authenticity, condition, preparation, and quality of restoration to original specifications. The winner will receive the SCCA Championship Trophy, and visitors will be able to watch the judging in action.

They will also be able to view all the vehicles travel down Hartz Avenue in the Race Car Parade.

If you’d like to beat the heat, you can register to sit in the VIP Lounge at Mangia Mi for $175 per person. All funds go to Parkinson's Disease research and patient care.

Street closures will be in place starting at 6 a.m., and the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Street closures include:

• Hartz Avenue between Linda Mesa Avenue and School Street
• Diablo Road between Hartz Avenue and Rose Street
• Prospect Avenue between the Clock Tower Municipal Parking Lot entrance and Front Street
• Short Street to through traffic
• Church Street west and east between Hartz Avenue and the Village Theatre Municipal Parking Lot
