Alamo Bank Robbed, Suspects Arrested In Lafayette

Two suspects are accused of robbing a bank in Alamo Tuesday and attempting to rob a bank in Lafayette, according to the sheriff's office.

ALAMO, CA — Two men were arrested on suspicion of robbing a bank in Alamo Tuesday, according to the Contra Costa Costa County Sheriff's Office.

CCSO deputies responded to reports of a robbery at a Bank of America on the 3100 block of Danville Boulevard in Alamo Tuesday at around 1 p.m. The suspect and vehicle descriptions were broadcast to area law enforcement agencies. Danville police were able to identify a license plate associated with the suspect vehicle and began to search for it, CCSO said.

Lafayette officers began searching for the suspect vehicle downtown, and witnessed an attempted robbery outside a bank on the 2600 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard. The suspect ran to a getaway vehicle, which fled and was later found unoccupied.

Lafayette police were able to detain two suspects and determine they were the suspects in the Alamo robbery and attempted robbery in Lafayette, CCSO said. Police say they found a replica Glock firearm in the backpack of one of the suspects.

Both suspects, whose names were not provided, were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
