Local Mother-Daughter Service Group Honors Graduating Seniors
National Charity League's Vista Oak chapter recognized students from several local high schools for leadership and volunteer work.

DANVILLE, CA — The Vista Oak Chapter of the National Charity League, a national mother-daughter volunteer organization, recently honored its graduating high school seniors at the annual Senior Presentation.
The event, which took place at the Alamo Country Club, honored 14 seniors from Monte Vista High School, San Ramon Valley High School, and Carondelet High School. The graduates and their mothers contributed more than 2,494 hours of volunteer service to a wide range of local organizations, including Meals on Wheels, White Pony Express, Save Mount Diablo, Special Olympics of Northern California, the Town of Danville, and Tri Valley Animal Rescue.

Claire Thrasher, who contributed 329 hours of volunteer service, received the Senior Service Award for Senior Service Award, presented to the highest cumulative philanthropic hours over six years. Thrasher also received the Yellow Rose Bouquet Award, given for completing 100 hours of service during the current chapter year, and the Mission Bell Award for contributing 50 hours to a single organization.
Avery Bush, Samantha Ferguson, and Marley Kovacovich also received the Yellow Rose Bouquet Award.

The Mother-Daughter Award, which recognizes more than 50 philanthropic hours completed together during the current chapter year, was presented to Tara and Tinsley Beane, Kristen and Avery Bush, Gina and Samantha Ferguson, Valerie and Marley Kovacovich, Tracey and Claire Sullivan, and Katie and Claire Thrasher.
