One-Way Traffic Control, Closures Expected Along Diablo Road
Tree removal work and traffic signal upgrades will disrupt traffic along portions of Diablo Road in the coming weeks, the town said.
DANVILLE, CA — Tree removal work will result in intermittent one-way traffic control on Diablo Road between Clydesdale Drive and Avenida Nueva through March 27, the town of Danville said.
Work will occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., though road closures and traffic control will be limited to 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Limited Saturday work may take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Contra Costa County is also conducting traffic signal upgrades on Diablo Road starting this week as part of the countywide Smart Signals Project. This is anticipated to last for approximately 12 weeks until the first week of June. Construction is planned Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with lane closures limited to 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On Saturday, March 14, brief road closures will be implemented between Clydesdale Drive and Fairway Drive to remove trees overhanging from the roadway. Each closure is anticipated to last approximately 20 minutes. Traffic control measures will include flaggers, signage, and advance notification boards. Drivers should plan for delays and use alternate routes when possible.
