Grainbakers Baking School

Grainbakers offers one-of-a-kind whole-grain breadmaking classes and soft pretzel-making workshops. We are honored to be in a guest residency at Pans on Fire, the beloved Pleasanton cooking school. We are also well known for wholesome staff team builders hosted right at your office.
Spent grain and brewer's barley are healthy whole grains recycled from the brewing process. Our 90-minute workshops are hosted at some of the country's best breweries, and they often sell out fast.

Classes blend fun, relaxation, and the pride of saying "I made that." Whether you are brand new to breadmaking or a seasoned sourdough pro craving a fresh twist, you are welcome here.

We especially love showing homebrewers how to transform that beautiful spent grain and brewer's barley into something extraordinary. Every workshop pairs you with friendly Teaching Assistants who guide you through mixing, shaping, and prepping your dough.

You leave with oven-ready dough to bake fresh at home, plus recipes and tips to keep the magic going in your own kitchen. The aromas, the laughter, and the brewery atmosphere all add up to a night you will remember.
This is a fun night out that is also an affordable night out. Most cooking classes are very expensive, and many paint-and-sip or craft classes burn through supplies, create a pile of trash, and still come with a hefty price tag.

Our seasonal flavor lineup keeps regulars coming back, from Pumpkin and Spice in the fall to Persian Rose Cardamom in spring. The soft pretzel workshops are a guest favorite, complete with bonus recipes for pub cheese and dipping mustard.
