Dublin, Livermore Hosting Juneteenth Celebrations

The two cities are celebrating Black culture and freedom with music, performances, and vendor markets with Black-owned businesses.

DUBLIN & LIVERMORE, CA — Dublin and Livermore are hosting events to celebrate Juneteenth, the national holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

On Saturday from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., Tri-Valley for Black Lives will host its 6th annual Juneteenth celebration at Bankhead Plaza. The celebration will feature music, performers, and a vendor market with nearly two dozen Black-owned businesses and local nonprofits.

On Thursday, Dublin is hosting a Juneteenth celebration as part of its Summer Concert Series. The free outdoor event runs from 4-8 p.m. at Emerald Glen Park and will feature music, performances, activities, and vendors. Vendors include several Black-owned businesses and support organizations, including Goldi's Gourmet Spices, Diablo's black Men's Group, Julielle Jewelry, Hively Hive on Wheels, and more.

Music from Motown tribute band The Best Intentions begins at 6 p.m.

Both events are hosted by Faith Alpher, a radio personality, comedian, author, and the city of Livermore's poet laureate.
