Dublin Pride Week Begins With Volunteer Day, Compost Giveaway, Drug Take-Back Day, & More

Dublin Pride Week is dedicated to celebrating volunteerism and the environment.

DUBLIN, CA — Saturday is the start of a week of civic pride in Dublin. Dublin Pride Week is an annual community celebration taking place around Earth Day aiming to celebrate and inspire Dublin residents to give back to their city. Several events will take place Saturday, April 25, followed by a Climate Solutions Virtual Workshop on Monday.

Dublin Pride Volunteer Day

Saturday, April 25. 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Emerald Glen Park

Participants can take part in a variety of volunteer opportunities, including cleaning up parks and trails, planting trees, and more. Click on the link above to register.

Compost Give-Away

Saturday, April 25. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Emerald Glen Park, Gleason Drive parking lot.

Dublin residents can pick up a free bag of compost in a drive-through event, courtesy of Amador Valley Industries. One bag per household while supplies last. ID or proof of Dublin residency is required.

AVI Community Truck Day

Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Q&A session from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Emerald Glen Park, Gleason Drive parking lot.

Explore AVI's trucks, meet the drivers, have recycling questions answered. Free giveaways while supplies last.

Prescription Drug Take-Back/Document Shredding/E-Waste Collection Event

Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Dublin Civic Center

Prescription pills, tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs accepted. An e-waste collection and document shredding truck is also available.

The city is also partnering with Children's Emergency Food Bank to host a food drive. Food donation receptacles will be available until May 2 at Dublin Library, Dublin Civic Center, Shannon Community Center, and The Wave.

On Monday, a one-hour interactive workshop will teach learn about practical, every-day climate solutions, and about the Dublin Climate Challenge platform. See here to register.
