Dublin Prison Ex-Officer Sentenced For Sex Abuse Of Inmate, False Statements

DUBLIN, CA — A former correctional officer at the now-closed Federal Correction Institution in Dublin was sentenced in Oakland to 52 months in prison for sexually abusing a female inmate and making false statements to federal agents, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers handed down the sentence to Jeffrey Wilson, 34, of Eureka, Calif., the Justice Department said.

Wilson pleaded guilty on Aug. 7, 2025, to five counts of sexual abuse of a ward and one count of making a false statement to federal agents, according to the Justice Department. He worked at FCI Dublin from July 2021 to September 2022 as a correctional officer serving as a health technician and paramedic, a role that included providing emergency assessment and medical care to female inmates.

According to his plea agreement, Wilson began interacting with the victim around August 2021 after she started taking medication prescribed for seizures. The Justice Department said he encouraged her to transfer from the prison to the FCI Dublin Camp, where fewer medical staff would see their interactions.

Wilson admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the inmate on multiple occasions, according to the Justice Department. The agency also said he provided her with a $60 pre-paid credit card and a cellphone while she was at the camp, and that she used the cellphone to take naked pictures of herself and send them to Wilson.

When he was interviewed by special agents from the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, Wilson falsely stated that he never had sexual contact with the inmate and had never given her contraband, according to the Justice Department.

The case is part of an ongoing federal investigation into sexual abuse of inmates at FCI Dublin. The Justice Department said Wilson is the ninth correctional officer to have either pleaded guilty or been convicted at trial in the investigation.

FCI Dublin, a low-security federal prison for females, was closed in 2024. The prison had been the subject of a broad federal investigation that led to multiple convictions and guilty pleas involving former employees.
