High School Artists Invited to Showcase Talent at Dublin's High Life Art Exhibition

The Dublin Arts Collective (DAC) and the City of Dublin are inviting Alameda County high school artists to be part of something special as the High Life Art Exhibition returns for its fifth consecutive year at Dublin's annual Splatter Festival on Saturday, September 12.

Since its debut in 2022, High Life has become one of the Tri-Valley's top showcases for emerging young artists, giving students the opportunity to exhibit their work in a formal setting accessible to festival visitors.

This year's exhibition also celebrates the spirit of National Arts in Education Week, a nationwide initiative recognizing the vital role arts education plays in developing creativity, confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking—skills that benefit students for a lifetime.

"High Life is about more than displaying artwork," said Vanessa Thomas, President of the Dublin Arts Collective. "It's about giving young artists the confidence to share their ideas, discover their creative voice, and experience what it feels like to be a professional artist. Every year we're inspired by the imagination and talent of these students, and we're thrilled to celebrate five years of showcasing the next generation of creative leaders."

The juried exhibition is open to Alameda County students in grades 9–12. Artists may submit up to two original works in any medium, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and mixed media.

Selected artwork will be displayed at The Dublin Wave during the Splatter Festival, where artists may also offer their work for sale and keep all the proceeds. Awards will be presented for Best of Show and Honorable Mention.

High Life is made possible through the partnership between the City of Dublin, the Dublin Arts Collective, Lapis Lazuli Art Club and many community sponsors, including Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu and KeyPoint Credit Union whose support continues to strengthen arts and culture in Dublin.

Artwork submissions close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31.
