Man Tried To Take Runner’s Glasses On Iron Horse Trail Hours After Jail Release: Police
An Oakland man was arrested on the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin after a witness suffered minor abrasions during an altercation, police said.

DUBLIN, CA — A man just released from jail was arrested on suspicion of trying to take glasses from joggers on the Iron Horse Trail, according to the East Bay Regional Parks Department.
On Saturday at around 6:20 p.m., officers from the EBRPD Police Department responded to reports of a fight in progress on the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin, near Amador Valley Boulevard. According to the department, a man allegedly approached a runner near Amador Valley Boulevard, got into a brief scuffle, and attempted to take their glasses.
EBRPD and Dublin police located one victim and two witnesses, according to EBRPD spokesperson Jen Vanya. One witness sustained minor abrasions to his head from a physical altercation with the suspect.

One witness reported that the suspect attempted to take glasses from other hikers on the trail, but no additional victims came forward, Vanya said.
The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of Battery on Parklands and Attempted Robbery. According to the parks department, he had been released from jails just a few hours earlier. The parks department said the suspect is a resident of Oakland, but did not release his name because they are conducting a follow-up investigation.
