Flames Damage Abandoned Apartment Building In Echo Park
Firefighters had difficulty forcing entry into the building.

ECHO PARK, CA — Firefighters worked Wednesday morning to put out flames in an abandoned multi-unit, Craftsman-style building in Echo Park.
The fire was reported at 3:32 a.m. Wednesday at 2301 W. Kent Street, at Waterloo Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jamie Stewart. It was out at 4:21 a.m.
The fire started on the first floor and spread upward to the second floor and attic, Stewart said.

Firefighters had difficulty forcing entry into the building, he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not available, Stewart said.
