Nordstrom Rack Opening New North County Store With Grand Opening Celebration

A grand opening celebration will feature a DJ, light bites, gift card giveaways and more, a spokesperson told Patch.

ENCINITAS, CA — Nordstrom Rack is opening a new location next week in northern San Diego County.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled May 14 at Nordstrom Rack at El Camino Promenade in Encinitas. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and will feature a DJ, light bites, gift card giveaways and more, a spokesperson told Patch.

Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, offers up to 70% off apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes, according to the company.

"We look forward to being a part of the Encinitas community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices," said Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack. "We're excited to grow our footprint in the San Diego market and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience."

The 24,000-square-foot store is located at El Camino Promenade, a shopping center that includes Bevo, Dollar Tree, Five Below and TJ Maxx. El Camino Promenade is owned and operated by an affiliate of Kimco Realty and is located off of El Camino Real and Via Molena.

Nordstrom Rack's year‑round charity partner, Operation Warm, will be on site for a special shopping experience for local families, complete with gift cards, according to a spokesperson.

Nordstrom Rack has donated more than $3 million to support Operation Warm, helping provide over 119,000 coats to children in communities nationwide.

"Through our partnership, we've seen firsthand how access to brand-new clothing essentials can boost confidence and help children thrive," Grace Sica, executive director of Operation Warm, said in a statement to Patch. "We're excited to continue this work as Nordstrom Rack expands into new communities."
