Overturned Semi-Truck Shuts Down Most Southbound I-5 Lanes In Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA — An overturned semi-truck shut down most southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Encinitas Tuesday morning, backing up traffic for miles, authorities said.
The truck overturned near Encinitas Boulevard, leaving only the HOV lane open as crews worked to clear the wreck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A SigAlert was issued for an unknown duration. Southbound traffic was backed up to Poinsettia Lane around 7 a.m.. Drivers were warned to expect extended delays.
