UNION CITY, CA — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a driver who left a 15-year-old boy hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash in Union City late last month.

The boy is recovering after suffering a broken hip and being taken to a trauma center on the night of Monday, Sept. 28, the Union City Police Department said.

He was crossing the street with his brother at Regents Blvd. and Kenwood St. when the driver of what police believe may have been a newer model Honda CR-V hit him, police said.

The driver did not stop and continued heading westbound on Kenwood Street, police said.

Investigators have struggled to pinpoint a suspect because of low-light conditions on the street where the crash happened. Because of those conditions, officers did not get the car's license plate number.
