Family, Dog Escape Home Attic Fire In Healdsburg

HEALDSBURG, CA — A family and two dogs escaped flames spreading through their Healdsburg home Monday night.

Although the family escaped, the blaze that broke out sometime after 8 p.m. ended with significant smoke and water damage to the house.

A 911 caller reported the structure fire around 8:40 p.m. Monday at a single-family home in the 400 block of Greens Drive, according to the Healdsburg Fire Department.

Multiple fire companies responded and found a significant fire burning in the attic above the garage.

Firefighters attacked the flames and contained the fire to the garage and attic area, preventing it from extending into the home’s living quarters.

The occupants and their two dogs left the house before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

Healdsburg Fire received assistance from the Healdsburg Police Department, Healdsburg Electric, Sonoma County Fire District, North Sonoma County Fire District, and Cal Fire.
