PERRIS, CA — A fire Tuesday afternoon at a Farmer Boys restaurant in Perris caused damage, but authorities said there were no injuries.

The blaze was reported at 1:50 p.m. at the eatery located at 145 Ramona Expressway, Suite A.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they encountered "smoke and heavy fire through the roof," according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

It took nearly an hour to contain the blaze, and firefighters remained on scene for several hours performing site cleanup.

The restaurant is temporarily closed, and it's unclear when it might reopen.
