Hope Lights The Night: Luminary Lighting Planned To Honor Those Affected By Cancer In Southwest RivCo

Set a luminary aglow at Hope Lights The Night in Canyon Lake, in support of loved ones battling cancer and those who fought the good fight.

CANYON LAKE, CA — Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center has planned a special event on Thursday in Canyon Lake to celebrate life and honor those impacted by cancer.

Reservations are required for the free family event from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park located at 22180 Village Way Drive in Canyon Lake. There is no cost to participate, organizers say. This free, family-friendly event REQUIRES an RSVP for entry. "Remember, all attendees must have an RSVP for entry into the gate," a spokesperson said.

As the sun sets, the decorated luminaries will "light up the night," creating a stunning and emotional display. There will be a moment of silence in memory of those we've lost to cancer and to celebrate the strength of those fighters, thrivers and survivors immersed in their battle.

"Join us for a heartfelt evening at Hope Lights the Night, a special event celebrating resilience, hope, and the support that guides us through life’s challenges," a spokesperson for the event wrote in a recent news release. "This beautiful occasion will feature the decoration and display of luminary lights, offering a moment of reflection and unity."

The event promises to be an "unforgettable evening of remembrance, reflection, and celebration that honors cancer survivors and supports the loved ones left behind.

Bill and Marilyn Watson, founders of Michelle’s Place and parents of the late Michelle, shared their thoughts on the event, co-hosted by the Mermaids of Canyon Lake, the area's Junior Women's Club.

“Our daughter Michelle lived her life with joy, hope, and positivity. The ‘Hope Lights the Night’ event was born from our desire to gather the community, share stories, celebrate loved ones, and honor those we’ve lost. It’s a moment to shine light on the hope, joy, and positivity that we all carry.”
