LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The El Cariso Fire Station 51 just reopened in Lake Elsinore, marking the completion of a remodel designed to better serve Riverside County Fire Department personnel assigned to the area.
The El Cariso station serves an important stretch of Riverside County, supporting fire protection in a high-risk area for wildfires and emergencies. Riverside County Supervisor Karen Spiegel was present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the fire station on Thursday.
“I joined the Riverside County Fire Department in celebrating the reopening of El Cariso Fire Station 51 in Lake Elsinore,” Spiegel wrote on social media. “With the completion of this remodel, the station is now better equipped to support the firefighters who serve this vital corridor.”

Spiegel highlighted the importance of the station’s location along Ortega Highway, describing the route as critical for residents, commuters and visitors. She noted the roadway presents unique challenges, including wildfire risk, traffic collisions and medical emergencies, and said Station 51 plays an essential role in keeping the area safe, particularly for mountain and rural communities.
“This project represents an important investment in public safety, infrastructure, and the well-being of our firefighters,” Spiegel said. “Providing a modern, functional facility ensures our crews have the resources they need to respond quickly and effectively, especially in high-risk and remote environments.”
