1 Dead In 405 Freeway Multi-Car Crash In South OC: CHP
One person died and several more were injured in a freeway crash traveling through Irvine Thursday night, police said.
IRVINE, CA —One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway and an investigation is underway Friday.
CHP officers were called to the MacArthur Boulevard on-ramp of the southbound freeway at 10:42 p.m. Thursday where they learned a minivan collided with a Caltrans truck at a high-rate of speed, a CHP spokeswoman told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead by the Orange County Fire Authority. Their identity was not immediately known.

ABC 7 reported four people were injured in the crash and taken to a hospital in unknown conditions.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the transition road from the 55 Freeway to the southbound 405 Freeway. All lanes were reopened just after 7 a.m., the CHP said.
