Golfer Attacked, Struck On Head By Own Club At OC Golf Course; Police Seek Suspect

IRVINE, CA — Authorities this week sought the public's help in identifying a man accused of a violent attack on a golf course in Irvine.

The incident happened Saturday evening when a golfer at San Joaquin Golf Course confronted a man who had reportedly run across the course, according to the Irvine Police Department.

After the confrontation, the suspect started chasing the golfer.

"The golfer tried to get away in his golf cart, but the suspect caught up, took a golf club from the cart, and struck the golfer in the head," investigators said in a statement. "The suspect then fled the area."
