Fires Ignite Homes And Businesses Overnight

Blazes strike Concord and Orinda, hitting residential and commercial buildings in separate incidents overnight.

LAMORINDA, CA — Three separate fires tore through parts of Contra Costa County overnight, sending crews to contain flames at homes and businesses in Concord and Orinda.

Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire reported on Knoll Drive, where a commercial building caught fire. That fire was reported at 6:18 a.m.

A second call at 6:49 a.m. in Concord pulled responders to the 4000 block of Joan Avenue in Concord, where crews moved quickly to control the blaze and protect nearby properties.

Across the hills in Orinda, crews confronted another commercial structure fire Tuesday morning shortly after 6 a.m. on Orindawoods Drive, working to keep flames from spreading in a developed area.

Authorities have not yet released information on injuries or the extent of damage, and the causes of all three fires remain under investigation.
