Latest Inspection For Temple Isaiah Expansion Project

LAMORINDA, CA — Temple Isaiah’s expansion passed its most recent inspection, but construction continues at the synagogue’s 10.7-acre campus.

The city will conduct a final inspection once crews complete the building going up at 945 Risa Road.

That step is unlikely to happen until after the New Year from the looks of the site.

The building remains “very much under construction,” Lafayette Senior Planner Arly Cassidy said Monday.

The two-story community building will include a café, lounge, library, multipurpose room, meeting rooms, about 20 staff offices, a mikvah, outdoor gathering decks, and new pedestrian connections between the temple’s upper and lower campuses.

Temple leaders designed the project to create a central gathering place and improve accessibility across the steeply sloped property.

The project also reconfigures the upper parking lot, adds six parking spaces and bicycle parking, relocates an existing garden, builds a pedestrian pathway between the upper and lower campuses, and installs an approximately 800-square-foot stormwater management area.
