Police Lockdown In Lafayette: LPD
Lafayette shut down an area while they searched an abandoned First Street building.
LAMORINDA, CA — Lafayette police closed a section of First Street this morning while officers investigated an abandoned building.
Police said residents avoid the area and use alternate routes during the search of the building at 1010 First St.
A visible police presence remained in place while investigators worked to locate a man suspected to be inside the building.

Police cleared the area at about 11 a.m., according to a follow-up alert. Normal activities resumed after investigators found no sign of the individual who was reported to have entered the building, according to the message.
"No subject was located during the search," police said in the update.

The department thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the investigation.
