Update: Manhunt For Robbery Suspects Hiding Near Schools

A foot search in the area led officers to the two suspects near East Street and Brook Street.

LAMORINDA, CA — Police shut down streets near two Lafayette elementary schools Tuesday afternoon while searching for suspects in an attempted robbery on Mt. Diablo Boulevard.

The search began around 1:00 p.m. when Lafayette police learned that the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a robbery near Lafayette.

Police closed off the area around Moraga Road at Brook Street up to Lafayette Circle — near Stanley Middle School and Lafayette Elementary School.

Streets opened again at 2:40 p.m. after officers arrested two suspects.
