132-Acre Fire, 2 Smaller Fires Break Out South Of Livermore

LIVERMORE, CA — A 132-acre wildfire burning about 25 miles southeast of Livermore in rural Santa Clara County is 40% contained as of Monday morning, according to Cal Fire.

The Mines Fire broke out Sunday at 2:08 p.m. near the Santa Clara/Alameda County border, according to Cal Fire. Forward progress was stopped at 7:29 p.m., according to Watch Duty. No evacuations have been ordered as of Monday morning.

Two smaller fires also broke out Sunday in the hills south of Livermore. The Geary Fire broke out Sunday at 9:51 a.m. near the Camp Ohlone Regional Park southeast of Sunol, and grew to five acres. Forward progress was stopped at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, and all crews were released.

The Greenville Fire began at 4:10 p.m. near the Poppy Ridge Golf Course, and grew to five acres, according to Watch Duty. Crews contained it at 3.7 acres, and was 100% contained by 4:53 p.m.
