Granada/Livermore Loses To South Korea In Little League World Series Final

LIVERMORE, CA — Granada/Livermore lost to the West Seoul A Little League of South Korea at the championship game Sunday, falling one victory short of a World Series title at the hands of Seoul for the second time in eight years.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our players and everything they accomplished. While the final game didn’t end the way we hoped, making it to the championship is an achievement they should always be proud of. You showed us the true meaning of teamwork, determination, and resilience,” the team said on Instagram.

Despite not winning the championship, the team was still crowned the best Intermediate Little League team in the United States after they beat Bollinger Canyon 5-3 on Saturday to win the U.S. Championship. The following day, they played West Seoul, a team that beat them 10-0 in the 2018 World Series championship game. On Sunday, West Seoul scored in each of the first four innings, and put up 10 runs, according to the Livermore Vine.

This is West Seoul’s fourth World Series win: the team also won in 2015, 2018, and 2023.

“Congratulations to South Korea on winning the tournament! Well deserved!” Granada/Livermore said. “Our team may not be bringing home the trophy, but they’re bringing home memories, friendships, lessons, and incredible pride. GLB, you made us proud! What a journey. What a team. What a season!”
