Hundreds Near Livermore Lose Power In Planned Outage
Nearly 400 customers just east of Livermore are without power Friday afternoon due to elevated wildfire risk.
LIVERMORE, CA — 395 customers are without power in unincorporated Alameda County east of Livermore, according to PG&E.
PG&E has shut power off in the area around I-580, Patterson Pass Road, and Altamont Pass Road due to elevated fire conditions that are expected to last until Monday, the utility said. Power was shut off at 3:25 p.m. Friday.

“Due to high winds and dry conditions, power in your area has been turned off to help prevent a wildfire. Once weather has improved, we will begin inspecting power lines and equipment for possible damage. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe to do so,” PG&E said in its outage center.

Thousands of other Northern California residents could be affected. PG&E published the following list:

This is the only planned outage in the Bay Area as of 4:15 p.m. Friday. The nearest is in the area around Pacheco State Park, near Gilroy. Several more are reported south in the Central Valley.
In nearby Tracy, an unplanned outage is affecting 314 customers as of 4:04 p.m., and 2,569 customers are without power in Antioch.

PG&E said that it will open Community Resource Centers to assist affected customers, providing chargers, Wi-Fi, water,snacks, blankets, ADA-accessible restrooms, medical device support, and more. No CRC’s are currently listed in Alameda County.
PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian said the utility typically works with the County Office of Emergency Services to determine whether they would like to open a CRC, but it was unclear if one plans to open in Alameda County.
