NYT 'Hard Fork' Podcast Hosts To Discuss AI At Bankhead Theater

The Hard Fork hosts and an LLNL researcher will discuss AI's impact and take audience questions Friday.

LIVERMORE, CA — AI is changing everything about the world we live in, in real time. You may have some questions. This Friday at the Bankhead, two leading New York Times podcasters and a leading AI scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will be on hand to answer them.

Quest Science Center is continuing its new series “Quest on Stage,” a speaker series that brings leading scientists, researchers, journalists, and innovators into direct conversations with the Tri-Valley community about new research and technology. On Friday, Kevin and Roose and Casey Newton, the hosts of popular New York Times technology podcast “Hard Fork,” will discuss the current AI landscape in a talk entitled “The AI Revolution: What’s Real, What’s Hype, What’s Next.”

The evening will also feature a presentation by Brian Giera, the associate program director for data science, AI, and manufacturing at LLNL. Giera will share how AI is transforming scientific research and accelerating discoveries that could shape the future of energy, medicine, engineering, national security, and more.
