Casa Vega Marks 70th Anniversary With One-Day $2.15 Meal Deal
Casa Vega will celebrate seven decades in Sherman Oaks by serving one of its longtime combination plates at its original 1956 price.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Casa Vega is turning 70, and the longtime San Fernando Valley restaurant is rolling back one menu price to 1956 for the occasion.
The Sherman Oaks Mexican restaurant will offer its No. 1 House Combo for $2.15 all day Thursday — the price of the dish when Casa Vega opened seven decades ago.
The meal normally costs $27.

The combination plate includes a choice of two traditional items — enchiladas, tacos, tamales or chiles rellenos — including cheese, spinach or chicken enchiladas, served with Spanish rice and refried beans.

The anniversary special will be available from 11:30 a.m. to midnight for dine-in customers only, with a limit of one discounted plate per person, according to the restaurant.
Casa Vega, at 13301 Ventura Blvd., was founded in 1956 by Ray Vega and has remained family-owned throughout its 70-year history.
The restaurant described the anniversary promotion as a thank-you to generations of customers who have supported the institution.
