Walmart Plans Remodel Of 56 CA Stores: See Which Locations

Walmart plans to remodel 56 stores across California this year as part of what the company says is an effort to make shopping faster and more convenient.

The remodels will focus on store layouts, technology and expanded services aimed at creating a faster and more convenient shopping experience.

"We're continuing to invest in California with a focus on how we can better serve communities across the state," Jay Cordray, senior vice president of Walmart's West business unit, said in a statement. "By modernizing our stores, we're making everyday shopping more convenient and creating a more connected experience, while empowering our associates to better support the evolving needs of our customers."

The updates will include wider aisles, updated layouts, improved displays, expanded pickup and delivery services, updated vision centers and pharmacies, new "digital touchpoints" that link to Walmart.com and the app, and improved parking and landscaping.

Walmart said the projects are part of a larger investment strategy that has included more than $1.1 billion in store upgrades across California over the past five years.

Officials said remodels will be completed throughout the year, though specific timelines for individual locations were not immediately available.
