SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

Firstly, SoCal is in for a hot week, and an Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for much of inland LA County starting Tuesday morning, when highs in the inland valleys and foothills will reach the upper 90s and low triple digits. Monsoonal moisture for Mexico is bringing elevated humidity and a chance of afternoon or evening showers or thunderstorms over the mountains, especially in San Diego County.

Around LA, temperatures will rise to the mid-80s earlier in the week, peak in the low 90s Wednesday and Thursday, and go back to the mid-80s later in the week. The coast will see temperatures in the 70s to low 80s.
