Los Alamitos Struck by Thefts and Burglaries

There were a number of thefts and burglaries this week in Los Alamitos in both residences and businesses. Among the items that were reported stolen were a wallet, coins, patio furniture and a cell phone.

AUTO BURGLARY

8/7/11 – 12:38 PM – 10800 Oak – A report of a vehicle window smashed and property removed from inside sometime in the past two hours.

8/10/11 – 10:43 AM – 10600 Reagan – A report of a vehicle window smashed and property removed from inside sometime in the past 5 minutes.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/SHOPLIFT

8/9/11 – 8:48 AM – 4000 Katella Ave. – A report of an unauthorized person entering a business and taking property sometime overnight.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

8/9/11 – 9:43 PM – 10600 Chestnut – A report of an unauthorized person entering through an unsecured window and removing property sometime in the past three hours.

8/13/11 – 6:49 AM – 10700 Chestnut – A report of an unauthorized person entering a residence by unknown means and removing property sometime in the past hour.

DUI

8/10/11 – 6:47 PM – 10832 Los Alamitos Blvd. – Vehicle check.  Male, 38 years, of Long Beach, on suspicion of DUI.

THEFT

8/8/11 – 11:03 AM – 3700 Cerritos – A report of a theft of a wallet during business hours two days ago.

8/9/11 – 11:28 AM – 3700 Kempton – A report of a theft of outgoing mail from a mailbox.  Property was recovered during an arrest in a nearby city.

8/9/11 – 2:31 PM – 10900 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of a theft of coins from a vending machine sometime in the past three days.

8/10/11 – 2:08 PM – 10800 Kyle – A report of a vehicle that was towed from a nearby city and property was missing when the owner claimed the vehicle.

8/11/11 – 10:49 AM – 5100 Tripoli – A report of patio furniture being taken from the front of a home sometime overnight.

8/12/11 – 11:47 AM – 11100 Noel – A report of a mobile phone which was taken from the front yard of a residence one day prior.  Property was recovered during an arrest in a nearby city.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD/CHECK FRAUD

8/10/11 – 9:31 PM – 12000- Reagan – A report of a person sending money for merchandise they did not receive.

MISCELLANEOUS

8/7/11 – 11:10 AM – Katella and Siboney – Traffic stop. Female, 40 years, of Downey, was arrested for having a warrant for arrest.

8/8/11 – 6:20 AM – Reagan and Florista – Vehicle check. Male, 37 years, of Santa Ana, was arrested for having a warrant for an arrest and suspicion of possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

8/8/11 – 5:01 PM – 11400 Cherry – A report of a violation of a restraining order.

8/11/11 – 9:56 AM – 3900 Howard – Pedestrian check.  Male, 28 years, of Pico Rivera, arrested on suspicion of having a warrant for arrest.

8/11/11 – 10:30 PM – Ball and Kaylor – Bicycle stop.  Male, 49 years, of Hawaiian Gardens, arrested for having a warrant for an arrest.
