Police Investigating Death Of 20-Year-Old Woman Found At East County Apartment

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Police are investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old woman found at an apartment building whose suspected shooter is known to authorities, according to the Antioch Police Department.

The woman was shot and killed on Thursday evening, police said.

Antioch police found her shortly after 7:17 p.m. at the apartment in the 2200 block of Sycamore Drive, acting Sgt. John Cox said in a news release.

The woman had been shot at least once, he said. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite medical aid.

Cox said the suspect in the shooting is known to investigators, but authorities have released no additional details.
