Man Arrested After Cops Find AR-Style Firearm In Vehicle: Police

During a search of the suspect's car, officers also allegedly located the upper receiver of an AR-style pistol inside the trunk.

ANTIOCH, CA — Police in Antioch arrested a man on suspicion of weapons crimes, the department said.

On Friday afternoon, police dispatch got a call reporting a man with a gun in the area of San Jose Drive. The caller said they allegedly saw him pull the gun from the trunk of a black Nissan Maxima before driving away.

An officer located the car parked in front of a 7-Eleven on Buchanan Road. When officers approached the driver, they allegedly observed a loaded AR-style pistol positioned between the driver's seat and center console. The driver was arrested.
